We had to sleep on the airplane because it took all day and all night. We got off at 7:30 in the morning In Ethiopia. It was really warm. It felt like a warm day in May or June. Not too hot and not too cold.
There are lots of dogs and cats and we've seen horses, donkeys and chickens so far. It's funny because they're in the street with all of the cars.
We went to our the place we are staying, called a guest house. It's really nice. We have 5 beds in 2 big rooms. The living room and kitchen have 3 beds and the other room has 2. We unpacked, took a nap and then ate supper.
It's are fist time sleeping in our beds (besides Lilly she slep in mom and dads bed).Supper was amazing. It was lasagna made with Ethiopian spices. It was spicy, but still tasted really good.
Then we played all evening with other kids who are staying here. There are 2 kids who are being adopted and 2 kids who live here because their parents are in charge of the guest house. Mom's friend Betsy and her daughter Kayla stopped by too so we all played together. It was fun.
This is us playing in the back yard.
Tomorrow, we get to go see Beck! I'm so excited!!!!!

This is one cool blog, Sid! We love the map in the background, and your pictures and descriptions are great! We envy your view from the back yard - we've gotten almost a foot of snow since you left! Be sure to tell Beck about the white stuff! You must be excited to meet Beck face to face!
ReplyDeleteDan & Sue
There isn't even a word for snow in Ethiopia! We used the word for ice, but he doesn't understand that. We showed him pictures of the storm and I don't think he knew. Mom said he's probably never had ice before, so it'll make it even more confusing for him.
DeleteThis is Tyler....the snow is about a foot deep. We didn't have school yesterday because we were blocked in. It is really cold out...almost 0.
ReplyDeleteHey guys...great pictures.... Grandmama and grandma M are looking at the blog on grandmas ccomputer. Give Beck a hug for me.
Grandpa.
Hi Ty and grandpa! That's cool that you didn't have school. It's really warm here, it gets to about 75-80 in the day and in the 50s in the evenings. It is really hot in the sun but cool in the shade.
DeleteHi Sid,
ReplyDeleteI am thinking by now you have seen and played with your little brother. I bet that was super exciting! I love the picture of the view from your backyard. Such a difference from what we have.
Can't wait to read your next post.
